Duracell DJUMP-17 Instant Jumpstart System Price

I was about to buy this jumpstart system from amazon and noticed that Target had it instore for around cheaper (look at more buying options to the right of your screen and find it instore if the store is in your area).

Things to note before you decide to go buy the jumpstart system.

1. Look at the cranking AMPs (ampere is quantity of electric charge). You want to look for something above 400 AMPs , this Duracell has about 400 AMPs. I personally prefer LOOKING at my battery in my car and getting a jumpstart system with around the same crank amps as my batteries CCA( cold crank amps) at 0 F, the battery has this rating on it. Note: The more the amps the more your pay.
Do not look at the peak AMPs rating, those are manufacture ratings so rather useless.  Read more...

I had a battery that only provided enough power to make a click when turning the key. I ordered this, charged it for a day and hooked it to my battery. Finding the proper grounding spot is critical. I was alerted to the fact that I found a good ground finally after the 2004 Nissan Frontier Pickup’s interior lights came on and the ding (key in ignition with open door) started blaring. The truck started right up.

Schumacher IPD-1000 Instant Power Docking Station Jump Starter with Work Light Price

The thing work as advertised. It went for about two weeks without a charge, while handling five or six jump starts. The power docking station is handy just plug in a make a space for it to sit. The light is a nice feature that I haven’t had a used yet, but it does leave you with a peace of mind to know that it’s there.

There is only one downside to it, the charge indicator LEDs don’t work properly. On my unit two lights come on when you check button, Fully Charged and Needs Charging. It may be a defect in my unit, other than that it works perfectly  Read more...
